Ministry within our Family
St. Paul's Mission is:
Through action, to share the love of Christ, the word of God, with
one another and the world.
We share the love of Christ by the things we do within our family
We share God's word with one another when we Worship together:
Greeters - offer a friendly Hello and this week's
bulletin to church members and visitors alike.
Acolytes - young and also not so young people, help in
processions by carrying the crucifix and candles and assist
the priest or deacon at the altar.
Lectors and Chalice Bearers - read the Bible lessons and
the Psalm to and with the congregation and administer the
wine at communion.
Music & Choir - are very important parts of our
worship. In addition to hymns, large parts of our
service are sung rather than said by the whole congregation
or the priest or deacon. The Choir makes beautiful
music with and for the congregation.
Nursery - will take care of our smallest
Episcopalians, while their parents attend the service.
After the service Coffee Hour - when everyone gathers
in the Parish Hall for coffee, snacks and fellowship.
We welcome visitors, catch up on what's happening, enjoy each other's company
and of course, talk.
Altar Guild members work both before and after
the service. They take care of the things that are
used by the priest or deacon during the service. They
also make sure the altar linens are freshly washed and
pressed.
Before the service, we have a very creative Sunday School
program for young people that includes crafts projects and
snacks. The adult discussion group also get snacks
while they focus on the Lectionary readings for the day or a
current topic of importance to the church.
We share Christ's love with one another when we:
Visit the members of our family who are sick to say
hello, bring prepared food or take them to the doctor if
needed, and, if they can't come to church, bring them Communion.
Every month we have a Sunday Pot Luck at church,
and in the summer we have a Picnic and a campout
weekend. During Lent we have a study group
as a part of our preparation for Easter
We make decisions by electing the Vestry. They and
the committees they appoint - Building, Education, Fellowship, Finance/ Budget,
Food Pantry, Outreach, Planning, Stewardship and Visioning -
guide and act for the
church between our Annual Parish meetings.
