Ministry outside our Family

St. Paul's Mission is:
Through action, to share the love of Christ, the word of God, with one another and the world.

We share the love of Christ by doing things in our part of the world that will make life a little better.

Highway Cleanup

We have taken responsibility for the cleanup of a 2 mile length of M-57.  On a regular schedule a dedicated group of volunteers go on what we call a "treasure hunt".  It is an effort to make driving a little more pleasant and the environment a little cleaner.

Greenville Ecumenical Food Pantry
On a continuing basis we donate food and other needed supplies to the food pantry run by our sister parish St. Paul's Lutheran.  Each month there is an emphasis on a different kind of donation for the pantry to distribute to people who need help.  Our most recent effort is a "fill the freezer" project.  First we will find a replacement freezer and then we will fill it with food for distribution.

A.L.S. Foundation of West Michigan
This year over twenty individuals from our parish participated in the A.L.S. Walk and raised over $1800 for the foundation.

Greenville Women's Shelter
We donate needed supplies and we are also "on call" when a need arises, such as a prescription. Often people in that situation leave home quickly and don't have anything with them.

Use of Parish Hall
Our Parish Hall is used by community organizations such as T.O.P.S., A.A. and the Flat River Community Players.

Thanksgiving Baskets
At Thanksgiving we donate and assemble food baskets with turkey and all the trimmings  and deliver them to folks who need them. Over 30 families were touched this way in 2000.

Christmas Time
We support the United Memorial Hospital Tree of Lights and we donate supplies to Gods Kitchen in Grand Rapids to be included in their Christmas baskets. Our young folks always pick names off Angel Trees at Christmas and go shopping for needy kids their age - they do a great job and take a lot of pride in their selections

Vacation Bible School
In the summer we offer a Vacation Bible School, usually in conjunction with the Congregational Church across Cass street from us.

Funds to outside organizations
Our Outreach committee directs budgeted funds to outside organizations we feel are doing good works. This year we will send funds to Habitat For Humanity, Episcopal Relief and Development, and of course to our own diocese.
